Lugo Cathedral
The principal structure of theCatedral de Santa María in Lugo is a gothic church which dates from 1129 CE. Although a building for Christian worship had purportedly been in existence on the same site at least as early as the 8th century CE (connected to the legend of the refugee African bishop Odoarius) and this edifice was likely repaired numerous times between the 9th and 12th centuries CE, the building which stands today was built between 1129-1257 CE.
